Train of Trainers in Dresden 2018


The University of Dresden hosted the GJU-led Erasmus+ DESIRE project’s #ToT meeting in Dresden, Germany. In attendance were representatives from partner universities – German Jordanian University ( #GJU ), University of Jordan ( #UoJ ), Aswan University ( #AU ), Technical University of Dresden ( #TUD ), and Damascus University ( #DU ).


Prof. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli, of GJU’s School of Applied Technical Sciences and the DESIRE project’s coordinator, inaugurated the meeting with remarks on the status of the project, running activities along with the importance of the ToT meetings for the project sustainability. Dr. Al-Halhouli stressed the importance of disseminating the #DESIRE project’s outcomes to all interested stakeholders.


The #DESIRE #project is nearing its conclusion with a main objective of creating teaching modules to be implemented by beneficiary institutions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region under the supervision of their European Union (EU) counterparts. Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions were on the recently developed modules: the “Economics of Renewable Energy systems” and the “Integration and system aspects of RES”.


The Development of Higher Education Teaching Modules on the Scio-Economic Impacts of renewable Energy Implementation (DESIRE) project was an inception of Erasmus+ at the German Jordanian University and is funded by the European Union.
