Monitoring Visit for DESIRE project
A team from the National Erasmus+ office in Amman lead by its director Prof. Ahmad Abu AlHaija visited the German Jordanian University on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 in a monitoring visit for DESIRE project “Development of higher Education teaching modules on the Socio-economic Impacts of the Renewable Energy implementation” supported by the European Commission in the framework of Erasmus+ programme.
DESIRE Project is coordinated by the GJU and partnered with the University of Jordan, Aswan University, Cairo University, Tishreen University and Damascus University in the MENA Region and the Wuppertal Institute, Technical University of Dresden, University of Cyprus and Sapienza University from Europe
Prof. Manar Fayyad, Vice President of Scientific Research, welcomed the NEO team and emphasized on the importance of the project for the university and for the different partners for providing a high quality education for MENA students in the socio-economic aspects of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (REEE) implementation.
The project coordinator Dr. Louy Qoaider from GJU Energy Engineering Department presented the project specific objectives, activities and work progress.
Prof. Abu AlHaija highlighted the importance of this project for having a mobility component for both students and faculty.
Prof. Ahmed Al-Salaymeh, the project contact at the University of Jordan, participated also at the meeting confirming that a national, regional and international network will be established within the project to utilize the project outcomes.
Additionally, the NEO team met with Dr. Dorothea Jecht and her International Office team to discuss the international credit mobility programme sponsored by the EU.
Finally, Dr. Abu Alhaija gave a lecture on international credit mobility programme to GJU faculty and administrative staff.
